1st Order of Business:

  • Review of 2007 Season Budget (Michelle)
    • League fees were $900 this year, next year tbd, $50 retainer will be put towards next years team league fees (good standing only)
      • BASED ON: Umpire costs staying same, field cost staying same, sponsors

2nd Order of Business - VOTES:

  • Not enough teams represented to vote - New Executive will be voted on by returning Executive members.
  • New teams will be voted for at the spring meeting - will be voted on in order of deposits received
  • Vote for rule change at Spring meeting – male/female pitcher/catcher voted last year, form handed out with 2 forms being handed back today.

3rd Order of Business - NEW INFORMAION:

  • League Warm-up Tournament – May ?? - Fundraiser for our league playground (lost $125 for canceling last year) Include in fees OR Cost for teams in our league... not enough feedback, will be put forward at Executive Mtg.
  • New Committees for 2008
    o Disciplinary Committee
    o Fundraising Committee
    o Phone Committee
  • Umpire Clinic – mandatory, every team must send a rep to the umpire’s clinic. They do not need to sanction, but must attend.
    • Date of Umpire’s Clinic will be Saturday, March 22nd.. Sunday, April 6th Cost of clinic will be $20 plus sanctioning of $75. The sanctioning cost can be paid out of your first few games worked, but the clinic fee must be paid a the clinic – these fees are NOT currently included in the League fees (tbd at Executive Mtg).
  • DJ at beer gardens?/ wind up next year?... suggested poll on website for this
  • Playoff
    • Dates – August 8, 9, 10 OR 15, 16, 17 – depending on provincials... Diana indicated that she has requested fields for NSA Coed Provincials - waiting for City of Kelowna to respond.
    • Format - 2, then 3 Divisions… did this work for all?... general comment was positive
    • Field maintenance - winning team rakes next year
    • ROSTERS - Due next year by July 1st, suggested $10/change with ability to pick up 1 player from another team (same level or lower) with approval from other team only.
    • Suggested Coaches meeting prior to playoff

Miscellaneous Notes:

  • Letter for sponsorship… please distribute & see website www.kelownamixed.com
  • Raffle - did not profit off raffle this year - broke even
    • Tickets at Gold Level Sponsor’s establishments (none) and at Mission Sports Field Concession backed out of selling tickets
    • not all teams sold their tickets
